My leading client who is a Global Consultancy is looking for a Database Engineer SQL & Oracle to be based on a client site in Bournemouth. 

The Database Engineer SQL & Oracle will have experience of working in a database development and support environment.  A Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or equivalent experience you will also demonstrate ITIL awareness. With an understanding and awareness of key database management techniques and disciplines you will deliver agreed outputs within agreed timescales and to agreed quality standards. 

You will be dealing with customers and third party suppliers so previous experience of this is essential, you will have a problem solving background and be able to deliver solutions to meet technical and functional specifications. 

Due to the location of this role, if you are located in the Bournemouth area or on the threshold of commuting distance my client is willing to consider a blend of Home & on-site working. 

Failing that, my client will also consider candidates working remotely but this will mean that on occasion you will be required to commute to Bournemouth and other locations in the UK but this will be an infrequent requirement.  

Technical skills required:

  • MS SQL including 2000/2005/2008/2012/2014 including T-SQL,
  • Stored Procedures,
  • Views including SQL clustering experience,
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence including DTS/SSIS and SSRS,
  • development experience in BI Reporting and administration – 9g up to 12c including interface, ODBC,
  • Network Listeners,
  • Oracle RMAN backup and RDBMS – Data normalisation,
  • Entity relationships,
  • N-Tier connectivity,
  • MsSQL and MS Access – VBA, ODBC.
