Contract: Technical Architect / Infrastructure Architect

Salary: £450-485 per day

Duration: 6 months initial contract

Technical Architect / Infrastructure Architect

Due to the urgent priority of this requirement a current and valid SC security clearance will be advantageous. 

Role Description
The purpose of this role is to bolster the strength and depth of the technical architecture team, supporting the design and delivery of change.

Main Responsibilities

  • Creation of logical and physical technology models

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the delivery of projects, predominantly in the domain of platforms and infrastructure

  • Produce and/or update detailed architecture and design specifications in accordance with account procedures

  • Act as an SME and design authority on technology

  • Ensure that documentation is peer reviewed and approved using the correct process;

  • Participate in Solution Reviews

  • Responsible for technical management and delivery of projects when required. 

Knowledge of 3 or more of the following technologies:

  • Operating systems (Windows Server / Linux / HP-UX)

  • Active Directory

  • Exchange

  • Virtualisation - VM Ware and Oracle VM

  • Databases - SQL Server / Oracle DB

  • Oracle suite of products

  • Citrix 

Essential Attributes

  • Proven experience of designing platforms and infrastructure solutions for complex environments

  • Flexibility and aptitude to rapidly pick up new technology sufficient to enable effective delivery across diverse areas, identifying the need for specialist engagement where appropriate on a task basis

  • Excellent of implementation knowledge and delivery experience

  • Ability to demonstrate methodology as well as adaptability to other people approaches, internally and with the customer

  • The ability to understand root cause issues and identify the optimum resolution, directing other line of service teams as appropriate

  • Understanding of technical architecture (Wintel and UNIX platforms, VMWare virtualization, networks)

  • Knowledge of undertaking criteria based product or options analysis, including writing finding documentation

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate and document at technical and business levels – excellent documentation skills a must

  • Strong interpersonal, Influence and negotiation skills with the ability to confidently engage with others at senior management level and at the right level of detail
