Purpose of Role

Supervise junior IT support team and act as an escalation point. Stabilize the current infrastructure working with infrastructure colleagues and external service providers. Participate in a range of infrastructure and business application related projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with other infrastructure colleagues and external service providers to stabilize the current infrastructure
  • Strive to raise the level of maturity, resiliency, functionality and performance of the infrastructure and Business Applications
  • Supervise Junior IT support team on a day-to-day basis, acting as an escalation point for outstanding helpdesk calls
  • Actively manage the polls and alerts both internally and externally.
  • Resolve 1st/2nd/3rd line Infrastructure issues.
  • Ensure smooth transition of business application support for ARS, Instrument database, Curves and Sinai from development to live environment making sure that 80% of calls are resolved without asking development team.
  • Actively manage daily Business Applications tasks such as ARS feed, JPM VRP daily and monthly feeds.
  • Participate in a range of infrastructure and business application related projects
  • Proactively manage external service providers to ensure problems with normal priority calls are resolved within the 3 days and high priority calls within one day.
  • Ensure all work is documented either in the helpdesk knowledge base or in the IT documentation folders.
  • Train team members on all desktop, infrastructure and business application support and ensure all business applications are supported to a high standard

Essential

  • Good technical background and hands-on experience of PC desktop, notebook, associated peripherals, Local Area Networks, server technologies, network equipment and structured cabling systems
  • Detail administration experience of Windows 7, Windows Server as well as TCP/IP protocol and basic knowledge of scheduling software and Linux command line (Bash)
  • Proven advanced level experiences of PC software and associated tools, specifically Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010 and later
  • Experience of supporting iPhones and integrating them within a predominately Microsoft environment
  • Experience of implementing change, software control and configuration management procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer skills with the ability to communication at all levels within the business competently and effectively
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team, to operate well under pressure, to respond to a demanding user base, to set own objectives and to priorities workload

Qualifications Required

  • CompTIA A+ Certificate
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
