Working as an ABAP Developer in the IT department you will be working closely with the SAP functional architect and SAP systems analysts and other IT delivery teams to develop enhancements to ECC6 and SRM 7.0 systems. This will include workflow development, WEB Dynpro development and PI development for interfaces.

  • Interact with the Architects, Analysts and other IT delivery teams to understand the functional requirements and convert that into technical specifications.
  • Develop and implement ECC and SRM changes/enhancements using ABAP technology for BAU and small change aligned to SAP standard.
  • Provide technical input to projects delivering SAP changes to support initial project planning and estimation process.
  • Liaise with our SAP Support Partner to enable transition of changes into BAU support by providing technical knowledge transfer and supporting technical documentation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete technical specifications.
  • Develop ABAP enhancements as per the design document requirements (workflow, WEB Dynpro, PI for interfaces)
  • Provide technical feedback to the SAP architect and SAP systems analyst
  • Support the Unit testing and Integration Testing cycles.
  • Integrate with the BW technical team where required.

 Skills & Competencies

  • The candidate must have worked in the SAP – FICO area before as a developer so that he/she can understand the functional requirements and develop the solution.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills including teamwork and facilitation
  • Excellent technical ability to develop programs in the following areas:
  • FI/CO (New GL ECC6)
  • SRM
  • Interface development
  • Able to meet tight deadlines
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Diligent, dependable with strong integrity


  • Solid ABAP experience
  • Knowledge of FI/CO
  • Knowledge of SRM
  • Knowledge of SAP-PI
  • Experience of the Oil and Gas or Trading industry is beneficial. 


  • Degree (or equivalent) ideally in related subject
  • Professional certifications / independent accreditation in desired skill areas an advantage
